Putrajaya - The leadership of Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) has once again been given due recognition for its visionary stewardship and dynamism with the bestowing of honorary professorships to two of its top management by Kazakhstan's renowned higher learning establishment.

UNITEN's Vice Chancellor, Y.Bhg. Dato' Seri Prof. Mashkuri bin Yaacob and the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student Affairs, Alumni and Management), Prof. Ir. Dr. Kamal Nasharuddin bin Mustapha, were both conferred the Honorary Professor of International  University of Information Technology by the International University of Information Technology (IITU), Republic of Kazakhstan.

The honorary titles were presented to both recipients by the Rector of IITU, Prof. Dr. Damir A. Shynybekov, in a ceremony held at its campus in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 23rd - 25th January 2012.

These awards are evidence of the flourishing partnership between the two educational institutions as well as the strengthening bi-lateral ties between Malaysia and Kazakhstan.

IITU was the pioneer of the IT-based university concept in Central Asia and has today deservedly earned its standing as one of the leading universities in the training of skilled and internationally recognised experts for the IT-industry in the region.
