Bukit Badong Maintenance Work Essential for Water Supply Continuity
The 16 hours maintenance work at TNB’s Main Intake Substation in Bukit Badong, Kuala Selangor scheduled today (19th December 2016) must be carried out to serve the public’s needs in the future and to ensure the continuity of water supply.
To allow a safe maintenance work for the preventive maintenance and installation of arc protection system, the temporary shutdown is essential, and this unfortunately will result in a temporary water disruption within the Klang Valley.
TNB’s Corporate Affairs and Communications Senior General Manager Datuk Mohd Aminuddin Mohd Amin in statement recently explained, "If the work is further postponed, there is a possibility of a flashover occurring at any time and the repairs will take up to three weeks.
He also added that there is also the risk of a major power outage in the event that the maintenance work is delayed. As the country’s utility company, TNB is always taking into account the interest of the public at large even when carrying out work that will result in temporary outage of electricity supply.
