Prime Minister YAB Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib Tun Abdul Razak made his first visit to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) on Saturday, 31 October 2009 to meet the staff in conjunction with its 60th anniversary and launched the Coffee Table Book - 'Lighting Up Lives'. The event which was held at TNB Sports Complex was also attended by YB Puan Noriah Kasnon, Deputy Minister of Ministry Of Energy, Green Technology & Water, Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, Managing Director, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Tan Sri Leo Moggie, Chairman of TNB and Dato' Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh, President / Chief Executive Officer of TNB as well as TNB's top management, representatives from Ministry Of Energy, Green Technology & Water and former top management of Lembaga Letrik Negara (LLN)/TNB. TNB is a caring government link company (GLC) and has been continuously engaged in various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes for the nation. Speaking at the gathering, Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib said TNB puts great emphasis on its capital development, cares for the welfare of the Malaysian citizens with its CSR projects, not forgetting the environment and also actively involved in developing the sports industry for the nation. As a result, TNB has groomed a parade of aspiring sports persons into national and international heroes. That is why TNB is a complete organisation in all aspects, with stable financial prominence, effective management, best in CSR programmes, powering champions in sport arenas and most importantly, delivering reliable electricity supply even to the rural areas. Dato' Sri Mohd. Najib also said TNB has been demonstrating the true spirit of 1 Malaysia - rakyat didahulukan, pencapaian diutamakan. "With continuous efforts and initiatives, TNB strives to help everyone in need of electricity supply regardless of race, status or religion. TNB is the role model and should be benchmarked by other GLCs or organisations.
