Tan Sri Leo Moggie Receives "Asia Pacific Lifetime Achievement Award"Print this page 

Tan Sri Leo Moggie, Chairman TNB has been honoured with the "Asia Pacific Lifetime Achievement Award in Information and Technology" from Contact Centre Association of Malaysia (CCAM) at the CCAM Awards and Gala Dinner in conjunction with the Second Asia Pacific Contact Centre Association Leaders Conference (APCCAL) held in Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre recently. The award was presented to Tan Sri Leo Moggie by the President of CCAM, Mr. Leo Ariyanayakam. According to Mr. Leo Ariyanayakam, the award was presented in recognition of Tan Sri Leo Moggie's contribution and services in the development of ICT in the country. He also added that Tan Sri Leo Moggie was the main catalyst for the rapid expansion and development of the ICT industry. It was his coercion that made Malaysia one of the most advanced ICT forces in the Asia Pacific region as well as being the driving force in the establishment of Communication and Multimedia Commission, the Energy Commission and the growth of the Multimedia Super Corridor in Malaysia. Tan Sri Leo Moggie, currently the Chairman of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) was appointed as the Minister of Energy, Communication and Post in 1978. In 1989, he was transferred to Works Ministry before heading the Energy, Communication and Multimedia Ministry as Minister in 1998 till the year 2004.
