Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) wins the award for the "Most Admired ASEAN Enterprise in Employment Category" during the 2010 ASEAN Business & Investment Summit (ASEAN-BIS) held last week in Hanoi, Vietnam. 

The award was presented in recognition of TNB's manpower planning, its implementation of Performance  Management System and the setting up of a private university, Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).

TNB Vice President of Human Resource, Y. Bhg. Dato' Muhammad Razif Abdul Rahman received the award from the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Pham Gia Khiem.  

TNB  President/Chief  Executive  Officer, Y. Bhg. Dato' Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh described the award as another feather in the cap for the myriad of awards received by TNB in recognition of the Group's outstanding performance. "Awards of this nature will inspire us to excel in our unwavering pursuits to be one of the top ranked utilities in the world," he added.

A total of eight "Most Admired ASEAN Enterprise" winners were announced under the awards' four categories:

  • Growth
  • Employment
  • Innovation
  • Corporate Social Responsibility

The winners were chosen out of 24 finalists under a strict selection process by an independent judging panel comprising top business leaders, economists and academics from ASEAN countries. TNB was also nominated as one of the finalists for the "Top 3 Most Admired Asean Enterprise in Corporate Social Responsibility Category". 

ASEAN-BIS is organised in conjunction with the just concluded 17th ASEAN Summit.
