Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) intends to construct a hydroelectric power station (Tembat Generating Units) at the outlet of Tembat water transfer tunnel with an installed capacity of 15 MW (2 x 7.5MW) for the Hulu Terengganu Hydroelectric Project located in the State of Terengganu, Malaysia. TNB hereby invites applications from prospective bidders with relevant experience, financial capability and resources to qualify as eligible bidders for the above mentioned tender as indicated in the Pre-Qualification documents. The key pre-qualification criteria is that the prospective bidders or joint venture/ consortium must be a major Hydroelectric Plant Manufacturer or in a Joint Venture/Consortium with capable partners who have proven capability and relevant experience and have successfully completed implementation of similar hydroelectric power plant projects. Foreign bidders are required to form joint ventures or consortium with capable local contractor(s) to maximise local participation. The Pre-Qualification Documents will be available over a period of three weeks from 2nd July 2012 to 20th July 2012, for interested Applicants or their authorized agents to purchase from the office of the Head, Shared Purchasing Department, Procurement Division, Level 1, Generation Building, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, No. 129 Jalan Bangsar, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during the following working hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Friday 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon In the case of a Joint Venture or Consortium, the document should be purchased by the lead partner. The document fee for one set of each Lot of the Pre-Qualification Document is RM1,000.00 (Ringgit Malaysia One Thousand Only). Payment for the document, which is non-refundable, is to be in the form of Cash or Bank Draft, made in favour of Tenaga Nasional Berhad at TNB Payment Counter, Level 1, Generation Building, TNB Headquarters, Kuala Lumpur where a receipt will be issued. Applicants are required to submit a copy of the receipt as proof of purchase together with their application for Pre-Qualification. The Pre-Qualification Documents, duly completed/signed in accordance with instructions therein, must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the above mentioned TNB address not later than 12 noon on 9th August 2012. All cost incurred in relation to the application for Pre-Qualification shall be borne by the applicant.

Payments made are not refundable.

Tenderers are required to produce the original certificate of registration and photocopy with KK/PKK/TNB and CIDB when buying the tender documents.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender nor to assign any reason for the rejection of any tender nor will it be responsible for any cost incurred by the tenderers.
