Yayasan Tenaga Nasional (YTN) invites qualified Malaysians to apply for financial aid in the form of a Convertible Loan to pursue study programs in Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).

Fields of Study

This study loan is offered for all courses offered by UNITEN at Foundation and Bachelor's Degree levels.

Academic Requirements & Qualifications

Foundation Level

Engineering / Computer Science Courses

  • Passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with grade C or higher in Bahasa Melayu

  • An aggregate of no more than 18  units* (≤18) for the following five (5) subjects, with the following minimum grades:

Non-Engineering / Information Technology (IT) Courses

  • Passed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with grade C or higher in Bahasa Melayu

  • An aggregate of no more than 18  units* (≤18) for any combination of five (5) subjects from the following:

    • English / Mathematics / Science / Physics / Additional Mathematics / Chemistry /Principles of Accounting / Commerce / Basic Economics / History / Geography

      OR       pick one of the following subjects with the highest grade:
    • Moral Studies / Islamic Knowledge / Advanced Arabic / Arabic (Communication) / Tasawwur Islam / Quranic and Sunnah Studies / Islamic Syariah Studies

 

* Aggregate Calculation Method

(A+ = 0, A = 1, A- = 2, B+ = 3, B = 4, C+ = 5, C = 6, D = 7, E = 8, G = 9)

Bachelor's Degree

  • Passed STPM with at least grade B in three (3) subjects, OR

  • Passed Diploma with at least a CGPA of 2.70 in a related field of study, OR

  • Passed Matriculation / UNITEN Foundation Level with at least a CGPA of 2.50 in a related field of study.

General Requirements

  • Must be no older than 23 years old during year of application.

  • Have already been accepted into UNITEN.

  • Loan is limited to two (2) members of the same family at any given time, i.e. one in UNITEN and one in a public university (IPTA).

  • Students currently enrolled in the second/third semester of the Foundation Level are NOT eligible to apply.

  • Students currently enrolled in UNITEN with a minimum CGPA of 2.70 (based on latest examination results) are eligible to apply.  

  • Students previously have been terminated from convertible study loan offered by YTN are not eligible to apply. 

  • The number of Convertible Study Loans offered is limited.
