3rd iCON Hackathon : Blockchain – Tokenization of Employee Reward System
ICT Innovation Department is kickstarting 2018 by hosting its 3rd iCON Hackathon series event with the theme “Blockchain – Tokenization of Employee Reward System”.
A blockchain is a decentralized, distributed and incorruptible digital ledger that is used to record transactions across many computers. In simple terms it’s a:
- Distributed network of computers (nodes)
- where each node contains a chain-of-blocks
- where each block contains a ledger with a list of transactions
- where each transaction is incorruptible (i.e. cryptographically secure)
- linked to the previous transactions for the resource it is representing.
Blockchain is changing the way people around the world transact with each other. This incredibly far-reaching technology is still in its infancy, yet it has already changed the dynamics that exist between buyers and sellers of goods and services. It has also revised the way people interact and engage with government agencies, as well as fortified the authentication of transactions of legal entities, organizations and nations. Blockchain combines the openness of the internet with the security of cryptography to produce a faster, safer way to verify key information by ensuring safety, transparency and trust.
Important dates for the event are as below:-
