Installation of Smart Meters Continues Throughout CMCO

The ongoing Smart Meter installation work in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam and Putrajaya/Cyberjaya, continues as usual throughout the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period ending 27th October, 2020.

“As one of the business operations permitted during CMCO, we are continuing with this installation in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP),” said TNB Project Director, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Ir. Mohamed Ghous Ahmad.

“Each installation process takes only about 30 minutes. It is subjected to strict compliance of the SOP set by the authorities to ensure the safety of Smart Meter installers and customers, including measures to prevent the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic.”

Until 16th October 2020, a total of 608,976 units of Smart Meter have been installed in the Klang Valley and Melaka.
