TNB Research Sdn. Bhd., better known as TNBR, has been the in-house solution provider for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) since 1993. Situated in Kajang, Selangor, the Research & Development (R&D) Centre, provides a centralized, one-stop center for technical solutions and innovation.

Streams of solutions developed under various Applied Research projects have been introduced to our parent company, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). These solutions have contributed towards improving the overall operational performance of the company in areas such as power plant unplanned outage rate (UOR), transmission system minutes, distribution system average interruption duration index (SAIDI) and many others.

While continuing the efforts on operational improvement initiatives in TNB, TNBR is now are embarking on various Advanced Research projects in positioning TNB to be an early adopters of promising technologies.
