Take Affirmative Action Against “Climate Change” Polluters Labelling, TNB CEO Told Conference

05/11/2014

Electricity utilities need to immediately take affirmative action to shed the stigma as the main “climate change” polluters due to their heavy dependency on fossil fuels in power generation, a conference of the Asia Pacific electric supply industry was told recently.

Citing the International Energy Agency’s statistic, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) President/Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Ir. Azman Mohd told the 20th Conference of the Electric Power Supply Industry held on Jeju Island, South Korea that the power sector is responsible for 40 percent of worldwide man-made Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions from fossil fuels.
