TNBES Provides Smart Energy Efficiency Solutions for INSTEP

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) through its wholly-owned subsidiary, TNB Energy Services Sdn Bhd (TNBES) has inked a Smart Energy Efficiency (SEE) agreement with Institut Teknologi Petroleum PETRONAS (INSTEP), Kuala Terenganu, that will save INSTEP about 407,880 kWh of energy per year.

With such annual energy saving projected, the RM2.45 million pact will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 288 metric tonnes per year, equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by 4,769 tree seedlings over 10 years.

The 10-year agreement, ending 2030, allows TNBES to organise and facilitate the best operating expense strategy for INSTEP in terms of energy efficiency (EE) with no capital expenditure.
