TNB’s Sinaran Merdeka Incentive Brightens Malaysia’s 68th National Day Celebrations

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) continues its long-standing tradition of celebrating Merdeka by offering the Sinaran Merdeka Incentive 2025, allowing commercial customers to reduce the cost of decorative lighting during the National Day celebrations. Since its introduction in 2000, the programme has consistently drawn strong participation, with 1,027 applications received as of 15 August 2025.

This reflects continued interest from commercial customers, who see the initiative both as a cost-saving and a way to enhance the Merdeka celebrations. Last year, TNB received a total of 1,863 applications.

“We truly appreciate this initiative. Encouraging decorative lighting on buildings and surrounding areas creates a lively and patriotic atmosphere throughout the Merdeka season,” said Mohd Fizan B. Mat Nor, Integrated Facility Manager of Lalaport Mall and one of the programme’s participants.
