TNB Wins Prestigious ARC, NACRA & ACGS Awards

Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s (TNB) Integrated Annual Report 2019, themed ‘Building Relationships, Creating Value’ has bagged four awards for its high standards and quality in annual reports production.

The national power corporation won two gold and a silver award in the 34th Annual Reports Competition (ARC) International Awards, organised by New York-based MerComm Inc. 

The company also won a gold award at the 2020 National Annual Corporate Report Awards (NACRA), which was jointly organised by Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa), Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).

For the ARC International Awards, TNB clinched gold awards in the Non-Traditional Annual Report: Electric Power Company and Interior Design: Electric Power Company categories, as well as a silver award for Cover Photo/Design: Electric Power Company category.

Various corporate organisations, government agencies and non-government organisations (NGOs) from 76 countries took part in the prestigious ARC. The ARC honours organisations with overall excellence in annual reports. It also encourages noteworthy and vital writing, as well as imaginative and original design.

The annual reports are ranked by independent judges with a score between one and 100. The top 30 percent scoring annual reports are awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honors Awards, respectively.

As for NACRA, TNB and six other Bursa Malaysia-listed companies won the awards under the category of companies with more than RM10 billion in market capitalisation. 

NACRA guidelines ensured that the standards and quality of the production of annual reports are in line with current requirements and the latest global developments. In 2020, NACRA introduced a new framework which integrates elements of sustainability and integrated reporting in line with evolving expectations.
