CUSTOMER COMMUNICATION MANAGER (Distribution Division)


Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is the largest electricity utility in Malaysia, listed on the main board of Bursa Malaysia serving a customer base of over 7 millions in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah. TNB plays an integral role in the economic and social prosperity of the country by providing reliable and efficient services.

We wish to invite suitable qualified candidates to fill up the following position in TNB Distribution Division.

The successful incumbents will:

  • Support General Manager (Customer Service and Marketing) and his/her dept. members by assisting with both marketing and communications activities on 360 degree content campaigns that plays out cross media.
  • Act as an advocate for Customer Market Communication and Advertising, maintaining professionalism, positively dealing with change and recognizing opportunity together with developing and maintaining a wide range of relationships with key members of staff, and the wider organization at regional/ state and area level.
  • Together with extensive administrative assistance you will support work on a variety of projects or initiatives which may include:

    • Promotions: Manage promotional activity to support specific channel, network or genre initiatives. This will include the production of communication materials, e.g. brochures, direct mail, posters, may involve liaison with advertising agencies, printers or designers. It may also involve managing the production and distribution of merchandising and to include implement and expand a new social media strategy to raise TNB Distribution profile and market.
    • Writing: Research and write creative briefs wrt to customer experience with TNB . This will involve liaising and working with internal teams / product & services teams to develop campaign materials. You will also research and write press information, press releases, general information and promotional material.
    • Exhibitions and Events : Research and manage company presence at exhibitions and events. Including being responsible for branding programme and handling the pr for programmed events and identifying key exhibitions which suit the target market, negotiating the contract, organizing stand design with designers and sourcing and managing exhibition staff. Additionally, identifying the need for any new supporting literature and commissioning it.
    • Media Queries : You will act as first point of contact for queries and will respond to media, agency and staff queries and inform all relevant departments of any enquiries of a sensitive nature, and/or requiring further action; ensure necessary follow-up to enquiries. Provide expert advice to region/ state and area wrt to handling the media . 
    • Publication : To lead on copy-writing and production of key TNB Distribution publications including Annual General Meeting and Quarter Prime customers magazine.
    • Channel Management : Assist with the development, promotion and deployment of effective customer communication strategies across TNB main engagement channels namely, Customer Service Centre (Pusat Khidmat Pelanggan) and the web.

The prospective candidate should: 

  • Possess a good degree in Communication/Marketing/Business or Masters Degree in Communication or related subject.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in related working experiences is an advantage
  • Having industry and functional exposures as listed below is an added advantage
  • Proven industry and functional experiences and exposures in enterprise-sized solutions.       
  • A self-starter with an innate drive for achievement, a high degree of integrity, independent and possess good quality leadership skills, ability in managing change, strong analytical, planning and organising skills as well as excellent interpersonal and business communications skills in Bahasa Melayu and English are prerequisites for the above positions
  • Extra knowledge and/or skills that are specific to the job i.e;
    • Microsoft Office Products
    • Any related presentation products in the current market
