TNB Facilitates Commercial Trading of Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) via mGATS

The Ministry of Energy and Water Transformation (PETRA) has announced the launch of commercial trading for Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) through the Malaysia Green Attribute Trading System (mGATS). Registration for mGATS participation opened on 8th May 2024.

Developed and operated by TNB through its subsidiary, TNBX Sdn. Bhd., mGATS is a pioneering platform designed to facilitate REC trading. This initiative aligns with Malaysia's national commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and signifies a significant step towards a more sustainable energy future for the nation.
