Drilling Works Affecting Electricity Supply in Setapak and Wangsa Maju

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) hereby informs that its capabilities to provide electrical supply to more than 10,000 residents in several areas around Setapak and Wangsa Maju has been affected since the last six months due to drilling works by contractors for a highway that is being built in the area.

Since November 2017, 14 incidents of TNB underground cable damages have been identified due to the construction work, affecting the electricity supply to the users involved.

The supply disruption following the drilling from the contractor has caused inconvenience and loss to the consumers as well as loss to TNB.

To date, TNB has detected an increase in social media talk about the disruption of electrical supply, and receiving 550 calls at TNB CareLine 15454.
