Southern Power Generation Receives Plant of the Year Award

Southern Power Generation (SPG) has been awarded the Plant of the Year 2021 by POWER Magazine, a United States-based publication that specialises in legal and regulatory news, as well as operations and maintenance information for the power generation industry.

SPG is the first-ever power plant to commercially operate General Electric’s (GE) 9HA.02 gas turbines model which is its latest and most efficient gas turbines that showcase an advanced technology integration, and a meaningful model for balancing climate awareness, energy affordability, and reliability in Malaysia.

Managing Director of TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (TNB Genco), Datuk Nor Azman Mufti said the award signifies another recognition of TNB’s accomplishment in delivering major projects by adopting the most advanced technology to meet the energy requirement of the country.
