TNB wins 3 awards at National Labour Day 2006 Celebrations

The National Labour Day 2006 celebration was held on 13th May 2006, Saturday, in Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil. It was attended by 10,000 workers from the public and private sectors. Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak officiated the event which was themed ‘Workers Of Excellence, Nation Of Distinction’. Datuk Seri Najib also emphasised the importance of improving working skills and knowledge to meet expectations and as well to excel. Tenaga Nasional Berhad, a well known electricity utility in Malaysia was represented by 127 staff comprising of TNB’s senior management, society/union member and representatives from various divisions. Several awards were presented . Tenaga Nasional Berhad was named winner in 3 categories which were ‘Anugerah Harapan Majikan Prihatin (Industri Besar)’, ‘Anugerah Harapan Tokoh Pekerja (Bukan Eksekutif)’ and ‘Anugerah Kesatuan Sekerja Contoh (Swasta)’. The awards were presented by Datuk Seri Najib.
